About Dawn

Animals have always been a part of my life, particularly dogs. From my first childhood dog to my most recent addition, an 18 month old rescued Australian Shepherd, each have given me such joy in my life. I have always been fascinatated by their sense of innocence and complete unconditional love. It is this fascination and love that lead me to pursue a career in dog training

In a quest for the most up to date, well researched training methods, I chose to attend Animal Behavior College, an industry respected school.

I continue to further my skills and education through workshops, seminars and observations. It is my desire to never stop learning about dog behavior and effective training methods.

My Method

What is the best way to train your Dog?

There are many dog training methods to be found. My method of training is based on positive reinforcement. Positive reinforcement works by using praise and positive actions or rewards, rather than punishment or correctional actions, to teach your dog right from wrong.

The key with this type of training is to determine what it is that motivates your dog, and use that motivator as a reward upon correct performance.

Such motivators can be treats, verbal praise, affection and toys. I also teach you how to incorporate the use of clicker training to effectively mark desired behaviors. It is my hope to “bridge the communication gap” between you and your dog.

I strive to provide owners with the tools they need to continue to teach their dogs long after our sessions are completed.
